NADEŽDA KIRĆANSKI (1992, Zrenjanin) is a visual artist. She earned her BFA and MFA at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade at the Department of Sculpture in 2017. Currently is a PhD candidate at the same faculty. Her artistic practice employs a range of media, including drawing, objects and site-sensitive installations. Nadežda examines the collision of socio-political realities and contemporary language of youth, unfolding its unacknowledged emotional, physical, and intellectual labor. She has accomplished five solo shows: 2019 – surplus of meaning, Haos gallery, Belgrade; What are you thinking about? with Dragan Novaković, Navigator Art Gallery; 2018 – nista spec 1.0 / not much 1.0, Youth Center Gallery Belgrade; #RIP, Remont – IAA; 2016 – Sculptures and drawings, Cultural Center of Zrenjanin. Nadežda was also engaged as a curator and organizer of the international project hybrid narratives, hybrid histories in collaboration with HEKLER platform and collective from New York City. The project took place in November/December 2019 as a part of the Mangelos Award and it consisted of an art residency in Belgrade for two from New York and Capetown, and a group show which was presented in U10 artspace and Contemporary gallery Zrenjanin afterwards. Her artworks are part of the Weiner Art Collection as well as of other private collections. In 2018 Nadežda was awarded with Dimitrije Bašičević Mangelos Award and was honored by the Award for drawing of the Vladimir Veličković Fondation. She was also awarded with Sreten Stojanović Award for achievements in Sculpture for the year of 2017. back |
